The OccuNet Company is looking for a supportive professional with knowledge and experience in pharmacy benefits or retail pharmacy technician to join our Member Advocate team. This role will interact with members, clients, pharmacies and physicians to provide information in response to interactions pertaining to pharmacy benefits.

This role will involve:

  • Responsible for accurate, concise, timely and personable responses to interactions via telephone or electronically. 
  • Advocate for members and clients by actively listening, providing information, and offering solutions.
  • Assist pharmacies with claims processing.
  • Work with providers to assist with prior authorizations and drug coverage information.
  • Monitor rejected claims, identify rejects requiring action and make outbound calls to resolve issues. 
  • Escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Proactively identify issues, determine resolution, and communicate appropriately.
  • Ensure call quality by applying the following skills: knowledge, confidence, exceptional caller experience, empathy, sympathy, soft skills and offering post-call surveys.
  • Utilize software, applications, and tools appropriately.
  • Document all interactions through the ticketing system according to the procedures set by the department.
  • Actively participate in call reviews, coaching sessions, accept feedback and make improvements.
  • Assist and coordinate in the production of training materials and program.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new member experience team members.
  • Identify training opportunities for new member experience team members, create development plans, and communicate with the trainee and leadership team (when appropriate).
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Always maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information by verifying three data elements on all calls and adhering to corporate and departmental HIPAA policies and procedures.

This role will involve:

  • Gathering information and communicating with medical providers and clients via phone, email, and certified letter to collect and distribute correspondence.
  • Daily data entry of negotiation requests, appeals, and balance bills.
  • First point of contact for medical provider inbound inquiry calls.
  • Preparation of an all-inclusive package with patient statement copies, explanation of benefit forms, claim forms, and other pertinent documents.
  • Always maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
