Robert Weeks Named EVP and General Counsel

Amarillo, Texas – The OccuNet Company is pleased to announce the addition of Robert Weeks as Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

Robert previously worked as a legislative analyst for a California state senator and a litigation attorney specializing in medical malpractice. He has worked as an ERISA attorney and General Counsel for third-party administrators HealthComp and Benefit Administrative Systems (BAS) for the past 15 years. Because of the ongoing relationship between The OccuNet Company and HealthComp/BAS and their shared clients, Robert is very familiar with The OccuNet Company operations.

Robert has helped clients and brokers navigate compliance difficulties and build plans in the wake of major regulatory changes like ARRA, PPACA, and, most recently, the CARES Act. He also developed the successful subrogation department and fraud department, developed a dialysis cost-containment program that saved clients millions of dollars over the past 8+ years, and had a perfect record defending lawsuits brought by providers over payment disputes.

Robert is a native of California, he will be moving to an in-house position at The OccuNet Company headquarters in Amarillo, TX, after having spent the past three years in Chicago. Robert’s wife Jennifer is also a member of The OccuNet Company. They have one daughter who is an actress residing in Los Angeles. Robert is a licensed attorney in multiple state and federal jurisdictions, including the United States Supreme Court.
